Week 33

Well after a fun week of being with Sister Chen we went to the mission
home  on tuesday and picked up our new missionary's! The process was so
mean we didn't find out till the very end who our companions are so we
awkwardly ate lunch all of us together and then had a long meeting and
then after all that they finally called us all up to meet each other
and of course we were the very last people to find out but then
Finally they called up Sister James and said her Trainer was Sister
Brown!

It has honestly been a blast ever since, Sister James is from Nevada
and she is such a cutie and so much fun. We have been together for 7
days now and it feels like we've been companions for a month. It's
been really fun to show her English stuff and make her eat Marmite and
other English foods haha. We've seen so many miracles the past week
which is really great we have been able to turn a lot of people we've
met into Investigators which is so great and we've met a lot of new
faces so that's been great as well.

I love being with a greenie it's so true they just have this greenie
fire and it's easy to catch so we are gonna have an amazing summer
together I think and see so many miracles happen. President told us we
need to make sure we are the ones fanning the fire not extinguishing
it. So I'm definitely trying to just make everything awesome even
awkward Missionary moments haha.

This week the poppies exploded so there are now fields that are red
and covered with poppies it's seriously so cool.

So on sister James very first day we went to a members home and the
member told her that her favourite food is marmite when she's pregnant
so naturally sister James said she'd never tried it before so the
member got some bread and marmite for her to try, thankfuly she didn't
through up she just made a coughing noise as she chewed and swallowed
it haha.

Any way life is wonderful, I love being a missionary and I love my greenie!

Week 32

This week has been a party with Sister Chen, we worked hard we played
hard and we slept even harder.

This week was super hot and humid in Boston it's been about 32 which
feels a bit extreme especially because the people here don't have air
conditioners like no where so every where is just super hot. The
members have said it's not really normal for this kinda heat so we are
just soaking up the rays until it's starts raining heaps again.

So you've probably heard me mention Chavs before right? Well
traditionally the Chav wears a Adidas track suit all the time... all
the time! But guess what happens to Chavs when it gets hot outside?
They shed the layers and walk around in nothing! (Well they have pants
on but that's it) So sister Chen and I took turns shielding our eye
balls from there nakedness except a couple times it got interesting
while driving haha.

One night this week we're making diner and I noticed there was a swarm
of ants attacking our wall it was crazy the wall was black and they
were coming up from under the carpet so Sister Chen and I attacked
right back with the vacuum. We now have ant traps and spray so we're
set.

This week we also did some finding in Skegness so of course we stopped
so sister Chen could see the North Sea.

I've come to realize that England has two flower growing season first
in May with all the tulips and daffodils and the second June which is
bringing amazing roses and Poppy's! Sad to say I'd never seen a real
poppy before just the plastic ones we pin in November so when I saw
them from the car I freaked out and made us stop and look at them.

This week we got fed so much Sister Chen hadn't been fed like this
before on her mission so it was cool to help her feel loved by the
members here in Boston. I'm so happy to be here still and I'm so
pumped to show my girl the area and what mission life is like.

I pick up my greeny from the mission home and I tried to plan a
busy but fun week for her so I'm excited to help her love missionary
work!

Week 31

This week was really good,  Our investigator was baptized this week on
Saturday it was so awesome his Dad and brother came to the baptism to
support him we had lots of members and missionaries who came out as
well so it was good.On sunday he was confirmed and made a member of
the church. It was funny because the font hasn't been used for a while
so when they filled it we realized some how it wasn't filling up
higher then to just above the knee caps. So the member who baptized
our Investigator had his work cut out for him. But he killed it and
pile drived our investigator to the floor so everything was submerged
under the water which was great that he did that only once haha our
Investigator looked a bit concerned before he went under the water
that he might get hurt but afterwards he was good to go haha.

So I got my dodge call and I'm staying in Boston!! Woot
woot! My companions are leaving Sister Alayon is going to
Kidderminster which is in Birmingham and Sister Osele is going to
Blackwood which is in Wales. My greenie doesn't get out of the mtc
until the 20th so Sister Chen is gonna stay with me for a week while
we wait for our babies! I'm so pumped sister Chen and I were in the
mtc together so it will be so fun to have her in Boston we are
basically going to party for the next week to prep for the next 2
transfers with our babies haha.

So ya life is wonderful, I'm so excited to be in Boston for 2 more
transfers and I'm so excited to continue the progression here in
Boston.

Week 30

This week I went to the mission home in Birmingham to go to my
trainers meeting it was so fun to see so many people from my group and
be able to train with them. We are all pretty excited and all a bit
nervous cause we've been in our areas for two transfers so we're all
thinking we are gonna white wash train! I gotta see my MTC comp
Sister Romero which was so awesome I love that women.

So we've been doing lots with our Investigator this week on Friday
night we got a bunch of Elders to come down to Boston for games night
to help fellowship and we played werewolf needless to say my District
is now addicted to it and we've been playing none stop now whenever we
get the chance. It was so nice for our Investigator to be able to meet
more members that are closer to his age so we are pretty excited.

So I thought I was almost done with having to Adult but I was so wrong
literally the day I got our car back we got a flat tire! So sad! So I
had to pull my big girl pants on again and had to deal with the flat
tire so nothing but fun times in the car lately but this could be my
last week in the car so I'm gonna try not to complain to much and just
enjoy my air conditioning while I can.

We've been working really hard to get Boston to be doing better so
we've been finding, bringing people to church and doing less active
work and we've been able to see some of the fruits of our labours.
I've been saying good bye to members before I go just in case and on
Sunday I said good bye to a husband and wife that I've been working
with since the first week I got here I Love them so much they hadn't
been back to church for twenty years and now they are making plans to
get sealed in a year. I love them so much.

This is the last week we have all together as a trio it's really sad
because I really love serving with them and it's a bit sad knowing my
dodge already but I am excited for change and I think it will be
interesting to be with someone at the very beginning of there mission
so I'm excited to see the difference cause I literally feel like it's
been 7 weeks sometimes not 7 months.

Week 29

So this week i had to Adult,  I had to take our car in and get it
serviced and repaired so I had to make the appointment I had to talk
to our insurance people then I had to get everything in order so the
car could be serviced and then go to another place to get the side
mirror fixed (previous accident not my fault!) and also I had to
arrange for the car we were going to be driving in the meantime. Then
I had to drive us to the dealership. So everything was working out
perfectly I got everything payed for I filled out all the paperwork
just like a big girl and I picked up the keys and we went out to our
rental car. This is where my adulting ended. So I put all our stuff in
the car that the car repair people dropped off for us at the
dealership sat down in the car went to drive and realised oh no! this
is a manual car! I can't drive manual! So then I had to make a few
calls and arrange for the car repair people to bring me an automatic
so an hr later they brought us an Automatic and I filled out new
paperwork for the new, new car moved all our stuff again then the guy
took off and we got in the automatic then I went to drive again and
looked down and saw the most messed up shifter ever the gears were R,
N and E and then a - and + sign for all you car people I literally had
no idea what the heck it meant so I had to call about five other
missionaries before we could figure it out what the heck we needed to
do to drive that thing. So ya I used my Adult powers to the extreme
that day.

Our Investigator is doing so great we have been teaching him and
helping him lots so it's been going really good with him. He is
seriously so prepared he came to Gospel principals this week and he
seriously crushed it the whole lesson he just answered every question
and asked if he could read scriptures and ya it was amazing it's just
so cool to see him make so much progress so fast. I love it.

This Sunday we had our first sacrament meeting in Skegness it was a
success 16 people went to it. Good things are happening in the Boston
area.

So last night sister Osele and I were downstairs just talking and
sister Alayon was upstairs the phone rang and sister Alayon answered
it and started talking to one of our assistants to President and the
last time we got a phone call from them it was because Sister Gjika
was being Emergency Transferd so naturally I started Freaking out
because I thought someone was going to be leaving. So then Sister
Alayon said oh you wanna talk to Sister Brown and I almost started
crying because I thought he was gonna tell me I needed to pack. So I
got the phone and it was just him telling me that I have been called
to be a trainer by President Leppard so After I got over the shock of
don't worry you aren't really leaving and then I got really excited
because I'm gonna be a Momma! Well at least in the mission haha so ya
I getta go to Birmingham this week for a trainers meeting and then my
baby should be coming in about three weeks I think so I'm super
excited.

This week was just super busy with traveling and teaching and just
doing the work. It makes me sad that my trio life is ending though in
two weeks but I'm excited to get my own little greenie and to
introduce her to missionary life.

Week 28

Well this week I'd say we fully recovered from our crazy weekend with
being robbed it seriously felt like it was so long ago now but it was
kinda rocky in the beginning.  On Tuesday when I went to study and
stuff I realised my pencil case was gone with all my study stuff in it
which really doesn't matter but as a missionary I feel kinda heart
broken that my stuff is gone haha I loved my markers and stuff... and
they even took my lotion bottle from off my desk so that was really
annoying cause I have to replace really tedious Items. They also took
Sister Osele's white handbook we counted to see if they took any Book
of Mormons sadly none were taken dang it!

So we decided that since we were put out that meant Heavenly Father
had a miracle waiting for us so we got to work and honestly It kinda
seemed like Heavenly Father started pouring the blessings to us at
first we tracted into a young man and he said we could come back and
seemed like we taught him 4 times got him to come to games night and
also to church on Sunday .he is now on a date for Baptism so please
pray that he will continue to stick and have the desire to keep
working towards baptism he is honestly so prepared it's amazing his
mother recently passed away and it is just so amazing to see how
Heavenly Father prepares people to receive the gospel and just sends
the missionaries at the right time.

We also met with a mother and Daughter who came to church the day we
got robbed with some members of the ward they liked the teachings so
they came back this Sunday and we were able to meet them finally. They
are so awesome the mother is a friend of some members and her daughter
told her that she wants to start going to church because she wants to
believe in something. The mother started to look for a church that she
liked for her daughter to start going too. She talked to her friend
who is a member about our values and beliefs and liked them so they
have started coming to the Boston ward so we are gonna start teaching
them now which we are super excited about.

This week we had to set sometime and clean our flats front yard and
back yard out so the landlord will take care of some problems we have
with our flat. We asked the elders quorum if they could help us so
that morning we answered the door and all the men in our ward came
to help it was so awesome we felt so loved that they would come take
care of us they also put a bunch of dead bolts on all the doors and
gates on our property so we are basically Fort Knox up here.

Today we went to Wollaton Hall and for those of you who don't know
what that is just think Batman! It is a sick mansion it's being used
as an exhibition for wild life. And there were so many amazing murals
every where in it, it was super cool. The ground were absolutely
breathtaking English people know how to do lawn care FYI. Everything
is so green the trees are huge cause they have been there for
centuries it's amazing I love how old everything is here!

Today I got my UK license in the mail so I'm all legal now and ready to go!

Trio life is still pretty great I love my companions it is literally
always a party which makes life just so much fun it also makes the
work easier. The best is when we have to do road trips then there is
just so much car singing and just such random topics we talk about
haha.

The other day Sister Alayon said after our appointment with an
investigator everything is just falling into pieces sister Osele and I
looked at her like what?! And then she realized opps I mean place!
Haha we love our little Asian! But seriously though so much love last
night sister Osele asked can I stroke your arm for you and sister
Alayon rubbed my back haha so much touching! But I'm getting over it
more and more I think they are just so sweet no one could not love
them.

So things are getting better again we have been able to sleep normal
again and we have been getting lots of love from members and also back
from the work so life is good again!
