Week 35
Well yesterday I hit 8 months which is crazy cause now I'm on the
count down from 10 which is super weird.
This week Sister James and I were literally stuffed until we literally
were sick. We had a lunch appointment and a diner appointment and then
we went to a relief society activity where we had scones, clotted
cream and the jam we made last week. when we got home that night we
layed on our beds thinking that we might die.
We have been finding like crazy which has been good we've made a lot
of new friends so that's been cool. We are just trying to get our
people to progress further.
The weather has been gorgeous this week so we have taken the
opportunity to do lots of gardening for people and I even got a little
colour thank goodness because I think I am the whitest I have ever
been in my life. Now I'm a healthy off white colour now.
We did a member Missionary fireside on Sunday and it went really good
we had about 15 families come and we were able to give them a lot of
ideas of things they can do to help the missionary work in the Boston
area.
We have basically been running off our feet to see every one and get
everything done so it feels like every week is a bit of a mad dash but
it's ok cause time flys when you are having fun right?
Sister James decided she wanted to change things up a bit so she let
me cut off her hair and it actually turned out pretty dang good! she
hasn't murderd me in my sleep yet so I think she likes it haha.
Life is going good though we have been having lots of success and so
much fun with our members so life in general is pretty great I'm
definitely greatful to have Sister James here with me for the summer
it's going to be so hard to leave Boston I think.

Week 34
Well happy Canada day!
This week was a good week, last Monday we went to a BBQ with our
recent convert and his brother at a members home which was super
great. Our recent convert is doing so many great things in his life!
when we first met him he was in a bit of a stand still but now he's
working on getting a drivers license and he's applying for college and
on Sunday he was made a priest which was just so awesome for him it's
amazing to see how the Gospel really does change people and gives them
purpose and direction! I love it!
Sister James and I have been finding more and more random things that
we have in common one of them being our patroness which is the white
mare haha. We had a pretty good laugh about it. Sister James is doing
so awesome I had an awkward District moment when I was talking to
someone saying I'm not training sister James she came pre trained.
Haha so cheesy. But honestly she's great but this week while tracting
I suggested to her to knock the door a certain way because it makes
the people more happy to answer the door. I of course said this
jokingly and she said you know if you would have told me that in a
total serious voice I probably would have believed you. So I kinda
realised how much power that you have as a trainer so I'm promising to
use this power for good and to not mess with her haha.
Tuesday night our relief society made Jam holy flip it was so good and
so fun to make jam and spend time with these women, I love being
around them and I feel like I learn so much every time I talk with
them.
Games night was a major success this week we got 10 people to come and
we played Ninja, charades and werewolf. So fun, I think it's been
helping the young adult age group in this ward a lot so that's been
great plus it's been great for our Investigators.
On Saturday I got ready for the day went down for daily planning and
got a phone call from one of the Elders in our District screaming
Happy Canada Day!.... I'm an awful Canadian I totally forgot about it!
Mostly because it doesn't feel like summer time at all. But I ran back
up stairs put on my most patriotic clothes I own and slapped on a
couple tattoos to represent the motherland. Later that night we
stopped by a member for his birthday and checked out his sweet new
ride! A PT cruiser! I've got to admit it made me just a bit home sick
for my Betty at home so he let me sit in it and snap a couple
pictures.
Today we decided to be tourists in Boston and checked out all the
sites and I showed sister James the Stump her first English parish
she's been in! She also wanted to try English candy so I made her try
Cadbury Oreo, Smarties and a Bakewell tart she liked them all except
the tart haha.
During our weekly call ins we were complaining to our District leader
that we had 9 diner appointments this last week and 10 this week, he
humbled us though because he said they only had two and they both
cancelled. So we are definitely appreciative to be getting so much
love from the Boston ward but unfortunately we are starting to forget
what feeling hungry is like.
I love Boston and I love the ward and I love my little greenie mission
life is good.

Week 33
Well after a fun week of being with Sister Chen we went to the mission
home on tuesday and picked up our new missionary's! The process was so
mean we didn't find out till the very end who our companions are so we
awkwardly ate lunch all of us together and then had a long meeting and
then after all that they finally called us all up to meet each other
and of course we were the very last people to find out but then
Finally they called up Sister James and said her Trainer was Sister
Brown!
It has honestly been a blast ever since, Sister James is from Nevada
and she is such a cutie and so much fun. We have been together for 7
days now and it feels like we've been companions for a month. It's
been really fun to show her English stuff and make her eat Marmite and
other English foods haha. We've seen so many miracles the past week
which is really great we have been able to turn a lot of people we've
met into Investigators which is so great and we've met a lot of new
faces so that's been great as well.
I love being with a greenie it's so true they just have this greenie
fire and it's easy to catch so we are gonna have an amazing summer
together I think and see so many miracles happen. President told us we
need to make sure we are the ones fanning the fire not extinguishing
it. So I'm definitely trying to just make everything awesome even
awkward Missionary moments haha.
This week the poppies exploded so there are now fields that are red
and covered with poppies it's seriously so cool.
So on sister James very first day we went to a members home and the
member told her that her favourite food is marmite when she's pregnant
so naturally sister James said she'd never tried it before so the
member got some bread and marmite for her to try, thankfuly she didn't
through up she just made a coughing noise as she chewed and swallowed
it haha.
Any way life is wonderful, I love being a missionary and I love my greenie!

Week 32
This week has been a party with Sister Chen, we worked hard we played
hard and we slept even harder.
This week was super hot and humid in Boston it's been about 32 which
feels a bit extreme especially because the people here don't have air
conditioners like no where so every where is just super hot. The
members have said it's not really normal for this kinda heat so we are
just soaking up the rays until it's starts raining heaps again.
So you've probably heard me mention Chavs before right? Well
traditionally the Chav wears a Adidas track suit all the time... all
the time! But guess what happens to Chavs when it gets hot outside?
They shed the layers and walk around in nothing! (Well they have pants
on but that's it) So sister Chen and I took turns shielding our eye
balls from there nakedness except a couple times it got interesting
while driving haha.
One night this week we're making diner and I noticed there was a swarm
of ants attacking our wall it was crazy the wall was black and they
were coming up from under the carpet so Sister Chen and I attacked
right back with the vacuum. We now have ant traps and spray so we're
set.
This week we also did some finding in Skegness so of course we stopped
so sister Chen could see the North Sea.
I've come to realize that England has two flower growing season first
in May with all the tulips and daffodils and the second June which is
bringing amazing roses and Poppy's! Sad to say I'd never seen a real
poppy before just the plastic ones we pin in November so when I saw
them from the car I freaked out and made us stop and look at them.
This week we got fed so much Sister Chen hadn't been fed like this
before on her mission so it was cool to help her feel loved by the
members here in Boston. I'm so happy to be here still and I'm so
pumped to show my girl the area and what mission life is like.
I pick up my greeny from the mission home and I tried to plan a
busy but fun week for her so I'm excited to help her love missionary
work!

Week 31
This week was really good, Our investigator was baptized this week on
Saturday it was so awesome his Dad and brother came to the baptism to
support him we had lots of members and missionaries who came out as
well so it was good.On sunday he was confirmed and made a member of
the church. It was funny because the font hasn't been used for a while
so when they filled it we realized some how it wasn't filling up
higher then to just above the knee caps. So the member who baptized
our Investigator had his work cut out for him. But he killed it and
pile drived our investigator to the floor so everything was submerged
under the water which was great that he did that only once haha our
Investigator looked a bit concerned before he went under the water
that he might get hurt but afterwards he was good to go haha.
So I got my dodge call and I'm staying in Boston!! Woot
woot! My companions are leaving Sister Alayon is going to
Kidderminster which is in Birmingham and Sister Osele is going to
Blackwood which is in Wales. My greenie doesn't get out of the mtc
until the 20th so Sister Chen is gonna stay with me for a week while
we wait for our babies! I'm so pumped sister Chen and I were in the
mtc together so it will be so fun to have her in Boston we are
basically going to party for the next week to prep for the next 2
transfers with our babies haha.
So ya life is wonderful, I'm so excited to be in Boston for 2 more
transfers and I'm so excited to continue the progression here in
Boston.

Week 30
This week I went to the mission home in Birmingham to go to my
trainers meeting it was so fun to see so many people from my group and
be able to train with them. We are all pretty excited and all a bit
nervous cause we've been in our areas for two transfers so we're all
thinking we are gonna white wash train! I gotta see my MTC comp
Sister Romero which was so awesome I love that women.
So we've been doing lots with our Investigator this week on Friday
night we got a bunch of Elders to come down to Boston for games night
to help fellowship and we played werewolf needless to say my District
is now addicted to it and we've been playing none stop now whenever we
get the chance. It was so nice for our Investigator to be able to meet
more members that are closer to his age so we are pretty excited.
So I thought I was almost done with having to Adult but I was so wrong
literally the day I got our car back we got a flat tire! So sad! So I
had to pull my big girl pants on again and had to deal with the flat
tire so nothing but fun times in the car lately but this could be my
last week in the car so I'm gonna try not to complain to much and just
enjoy my air conditioning while I can.
We've been working really hard to get Boston to be doing better so
we've been finding, bringing people to church and doing less active
work and we've been able to see some of the fruits of our labours.
I've been saying good bye to members before I go just in case and on
Sunday I said good bye to a husband and wife that I've been working
with since the first week I got here I Love them so much they hadn't
been back to church for twenty years and now they are making plans to
get sealed in a year. I love them so much.
This is the last week we have all together as a trio it's really sad
because I really love serving with them and it's a bit sad knowing my
dodge already but I am excited for change and I think it will be
interesting to be with someone at the very beginning of there mission
so I'm excited to see the difference cause I literally feel like it's
been 7 weeks sometimes not 7 months.
